Jarkelidh

Jarkelidh is a commissioned dance performance made by Marit Shirin Carolasdotter, originally produced by Riksteatern in 2023.
In the performance, dancers Linnéa Sundling and Sebastian Björkman are exploring individual and collective grief - a lamentation through movement, voice and sound. The audience are invited through cycles of grieving that culminates into a fluid state of transformation.
The artistic process inspired by the Spanish indie-game “Gris” where the journey through grief is accompanied by twinkles of warmth and humour.
Together with a transformative scenography, “the mother”, the dancers are moving through scapes of coping, grieving, community and liberation.
With a powerful sound and light-scape created by some of Sweden’s most accomplished artists, Jarkelidh reaches the core of what it feels like to be in connection to our mourning selves in transition from grieving - to healing.

“An elegant piece with strong presence”
